A group within the Arlington Baptist Church expressed an interest in helping to feed the hungry in our community.  This group recommended that the church begin a Food Bank here at the church to provide assistance to those in need of food. Although other food banks existed, because of the cost of transportation these were prohibited a number of people in this community. The Church agreed and the group started the Arlington Food Bank Ministry. This group visited a number of other food banks to learn the requirements and how these were operated.   The Food Bank had its first distribution Saturday, May 16, 2009. The distributions are held the third Saturday of each month and normally serves at least 80 families.
